The European Route of Cemeteries - is the most visible ASCE project awarded by the UN World Tourism Organization, where cemeteries are presented as tourist spots in each city. Cemeteries are a new and important “niche” market in tourism that has great potential to grow and generate positive economic impacts in cities.
The European Cemeteries Discovery Week: when ASCE cemeteries become a venue for different events (such as concerts, exhibitions, guided tours, etc.) that attract millions of people and interest the media from all over Europe.
EUCEMET project, where cemeteries are promoted through international photo exhibitions with photos of many European cemeteries (members of the project partners), where the "musealization of cemeteries" is to be achieved and innovative technologies have been developed and used in the cemeteries - a pilot project of “Augmented Reality Browser for Mobile Technologies” (ARTour mobile guide).
SYMBOLS project, whose main objective is to bring the rich monumental and cultural heritage that rests in European cemeteries closer to new audiences (young people, people with disabilities) through different segments: creation of artistic works related to the symbols that appear in European cemeteries (prints, dance, music, etc.) and its presentation to sister audiences through exhibitions, music and dance performances; creation of symbol paths within the ARTour mobile app; adaptation of the ARTour guide to the needs of blind and deaf people, etc. The Symbols project is co-financed by the European Commission within the Creative Europe Program and was selected as the second best project of the 337 submitted.
